What my husband thought of his JORD wooden watch

I got a JORD wooden watch for a review recently. Because I am such a lovely wife and Christmas is so close, I figured I would treat my husband to a new watch and chose the Conway watch in Dark Sandalwood & Burgundy colour. And because it is a men's watch, I figured it would be nice to hear a mans opinion on it, so I interviewed my husband on what he thinks about the watch. At the end of the post, you can also win a voucher to spend towards any wooden watch by JORD.

Please note, this post is written in collaboration with JORD Wood Watches.

So, a wooden watch I hear you say? How does that work? Well, the clock movements (that's the clock innards), the clasp and the clock face are of course metal and glass, but the rest of it is wood and looks really unique and quite unusual for a watch. I loved that the watch was presented in a wooden box, which had a clever little drawer too, so you can house your watch and cufflinks and other small items in one box. This makes it perfect for gifting.

My husband chose the Conway watch, which costs about £180 (or $229). The shipping is free to UK and worldwide, but you will most likely also have to pay for customs. We paid about £16 customs charges.

But anyway, I promised that I would deliver a mans opinion as it is a men's watch so let's get it from the horses mouth then! I interviewed my husband and here is what he had to say.

What do you think of the watch?
I think the watch is very stylish. I like the natural feel to it. As it is made of wood, it feels warm on the wrist. One thing I never liked about metal watches is that they feel cold, especially in the cold weather. The watch has got lightness to it as it is wood but I still feel it is there, which is nice.

What were your first impressions?
Other than the immediate "Wow, new, shiny" running through my mind, I really liked the complementary colours and the the quite rich wood grain. The red of the watch face helps bring out the rich wood grain. What I really like about the grain is that some links are really dark and some brighter, and the contrasting textures, with some links with cross hatch and some without. Some links are more shiny and some more matte. Also, the clasp is quite clever. The way it links together is cool, such an easy and quick way to put it on.

What have other people said about it?
My family really likes it, they have said it is really stylish. They said it is definitely something that suits me.

So there, that's a man's opinion of JORD wooden watches. He really likes it, and uses it all the time, which is great and exactly what you want from a nice gift like this. Now I want to get myself a JORD watch too so we could walk around matchy-matchy, looking quite unique in our wooden watches, ha ha. Well, maybe next Christmas!
