Toddler OOTD #30 - Pretty little strawberry dress

When is the right time to wear a pretty dress? Is it when you are going to a party? Or how about when you go on a date? Or maybe when you go out to the town? Or in the life a toddler, is it only when you go to a birthday bash, or a play date, or out for a babyccino with mummy?

Well, I've always been of the opinion that clothes and washing machines are made for a reason. That is to wear them and to wash them... No point saving clothes for any special occasion. As a toddler it is even more important to use those pretty dresses and gorgeous shoes _everywhere_ you possibly can, as those damn little monkeys seem to grow out of their clothes in a fortnight...

And that includes wearing a white dress with dinky little strawberries if you want to, where you want to, even if it is in a sandpit. Or skidding on grass. Or even jumping on a little puddle. Because mummy knows how to use that washing machine!

Do you save clothes for special occasion or wear them where ever and whenever you want?

  1. Totally agree! And your little girl is so so gorgeous in that dress it would be a shame for her not to wear it as often as possible! #TT_Thursday

    1. Thank you :) It really is such a cute dress, we got it ages ago and it fits perfectly now :) Better get some use out of it before it gets too small!

    1. That's exactly what I think too - might as well get use out of them and not worry too much if they will get damaged or dirty. Life is for living :)

    1. I've always liked dressing her in cutesy stuff, even when she was a newborn. Much more fun that way I think (I do love baby clothes!). She was always one of the most well dressed babies where-ever we went :)

    1. That's the thing - and we actually have so many clothes, sometimes there are items that she only wears once. It feels like such a terrible waste! We will of course pass them on if we won't have another girl, but still.

I totally agree, there is no point in keeping nice clothes for special occasions as otherwise they might grow out of them

    1. Thank you! I checked it out, lovely series, and I will come and have a proper gander and comment too when I have got a bit more time :) (got a lil one wanting to go out next to me right now)

This dress was from Mothercare but from last year - I am sure similar dresses are around though, maybe Next, H&M or Mothercare? Good luck :)

  12. Oh gosh, I couldn't agree more although I have been scared to let Leah wear two of her "special" dresses recently as we have had weddings and other occasions but now I am letting her wear them whenever she wants. Such a lovely dress, thank you for sharing #TT_Thursday

    1. If you are saving it for a specific occasion, then it makes sense that you are a bit more careful with it. Of course :) But after the occasions it is nice to let them properly wear them whenever they want :) Thanks for hosting!

  13. How cute is that dress?! Love it! The print is adorable. Who doesn't love a fruit print? She looks so sweet in it, such a cutie. I definitely don't save things for special occasions, unless it's a something that's set aside for a wedding etc. And after its done we try to get as much wear out of it as possible. Don't get me wrong I do have some bits that I forget about that still have tags on hanging in the wardrobe though haha...oops! Thanks so much for linking up with us and hope you have a great bank holiday weekend lovey :) x #weekendministyle

    1. We have those items too, I mean the ones with tags still on... Terrible really, but we find we get so many clothes as gifts that sometimes we even forget the ones we got and they just end up forgotten at the back of the closet. So many adorable things as well she might wear just once or twice before growing out of them.

      Thanks for hosting! :)

  14. What a cool dress - I love the print! It is so happy and perfect for summer! She looks so cute in it! I totally agree with you about wearing clothes - that's what they're for and I like to try and get as much wear out of this as possible! Especially as kids clothes are so expensive considering how fast they grow out of everything! xx #weekendministyle

    1. It is quite incredible the rate they grow out of them! My daughter has had a growth spurt lately and is getting too big for a lot of her clothes we only very recently bought. So yes, might as well wear them when you still can! :)
